Introducing our latest Tea-total team member...8 months ago
Last year one of my best mates, Spanky (don’t ask), bought me a very large Liverpool Football Club mug for my birthday. On handing it to me he said, “I bought this for you because I thought it summed you up; A big, scouse, mug.”
Spanky is generally quite a reserved character, but get him started on one of a handful of topics; Fulham FC, posh kids at Newcastle University, foreign exchange, or tea, and he will happily chew your ear off.
Whilst his boast on holiday that he “knows more about Hitler than anybody else” is one of my favourite lines of his, his insistence that he is a national authority on tea never fails to amuse me. When asked to prove such bold a statement, his argument is not one of cups-per-day. No, Spanky’s love of tea has provenance, proven, apparently, by the fact that his first word as a 2-year-old child was, “Tea”.
Well Spanky I’m afraid I have well and truly raised the stakes in the love of tea contest. As the latest member of Team Tea, my raison d’etre is Tea, without it, I physically cannot survive or pay the bills! Checkmate.
I can’t wait to get started with Spence and Suzanne. The pair have created an exciting British Brand that quite frankly knocks the socks off the competition. We Are Tea is already a huge success story, but with so many opportunities brewing, we are about to grow, faster than you can say ‘Moroccan Mint’.
